It’s very late and I’m very tired, so I’m going to let pictures tell the story. What a day of storm chasing! A storm that none of us had a lot of confidence in spat out at least three tornadoes. We were near the southeastern Colorado community of Campo, Colorado.
A mesocyclone formed directly above us and really beagn to spin. We repositioned a short distance south and watched in amazement when the storm generated a beautiful tornado only 200 to 300 yeads to the east of our position. We watched the tornado strengthen for several minutes and were actually in the tornado’s wind field before we repositioned to a safer location. As we drove away, the tornado crossed the road behind us. It was an incredible sight. We saw two more tornados generated by this storm before we called it quits. Tomorrow we are off to Nebraska.
Awesome! Sure beats office work! Take care, Steve.
Wow!
Oh my gosh. May 31’s two here at the bottom are breathtakingingly beautiful! Wish I could go on something like this!
