A Stormy Start

Storm Chasing with Steve Carey

The Front Range

Clouds over Enid, Oklahoma

May 30, 2010

Today’s chase took us from Denver, Colorado to Edmond, Oklahoma.   Condidtions were not favorable for the formation of tornadic supercell storms, but we did intercept a line of strong thunderstorms in Oklahoma.  These storms produced the usual suite of wind, rain, hail, and lightning.  Thunderstorms raged throughout the night, waking me up several times from a much needed sleep.  The Storm Predition Center (SPC) has issued a slight risk of severe storms for parts of Colorado, Kansas, Oklahoma, and Texas for Monday.

On a personal note…why is it so hard to find a hotel room iron that works?
