It’s 6 a.m. and I awake to the sound of thunder in Overland Park, Kansas. I hope it’s a sign of things to come later in the day. After a rather frustrating week of storm chasing, I am cautiously optimistic about seeing a supercell storm later today.
Yesterday we drove from Atlantic, Iowa to Overland Park. At the risk of sounding like a reporter for the Food Network, breakfast and dinner were the highlights of the day. Breakfast was at the Farmers Kitchen in Atlantic; dinner at Gates BBQ in Kansas City. Both were terrific.
I’m fueled up. The atmosphere is fueled up. Let’s get on some storms today!
